CH A11YAccessibilitythe room is for everybody

Everyone gets a good seat.

This site aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Not as a legal checkbox — because a studio whose whole pitch is taking care of the room doesn't get to have a room some people can't use.

What's built in

  • Full keyboard operation, including the interactive wordmark (focus it, then hold Space or Enter), the 404 channel dial, and a skip link on every page.
  • Motion respects you twice: the site honors your system's reduced-motion setting everywhere, and the MOTION switch in the footer stills the decorative animations without touching any system setting.
  • Sound is off until you turn it on, and everything audible has a visible equivalent.
  • Text alternatives on all imagery, labels on every form control, headings in order, and color never used as the only signal — links in prose are underlined, states carry text.
  • Both the printed-poster (light) and broadcast (dark) palettes are checked against WCAG contrast minimums, small text included.
  • No accessibility overlay widget. Overlays paper over problems; we fix the markup.

Known limitations

The wordmark and posters are canvas and SVG art — each carries a text description, but the art itself is visual by nature. The lab page hosts experiments, and experiments occasionally misbehave; nothing essential lives there. If we've missed something anywhere else, that's a bug, not a policy.

Something in your way?

Tell us and it gets fixed — usually fast, because the site is small and so is the studio. Email hello@deadnorth.io with the page and what happened. You'll get a reply from a person, not a ticket number.
